D’Ortenzi vs Parzeczewski For The Vacant EBU Light Heavy Title
By Per-Åke Persson
Light heavies Luca D’Ortenzi (20-4) and Robert Parzeczewski (35-2) meet April 11 on an Opi since 82 event in Rome (Italy) with the vacant EBU title at stake.
D’Ortenzi was the mandatory challenger for then champ Lyndon Arthur but he relinquished the title and Parzeczewski, at the time # 4 in the ratings, was the highest ranked available contender.
The 37-year old Italian has in the past campaigned as a cruiserweight and heavyweight with mixed results but dropped down to light heavyweight last year and won the EBU Silver crown which opened the road to become mandatory challenger for the main title.
Parzeczewski has been a pro since 2013 and has been Polish champ at both super middle and light heavyweight but this is the biggest fight of his career.
