BKT Tyres Enters Consumer Market in India
BKT Tyres has taken a big step forward by getting into India’s consumer tyre space, which many in the industry have been expecting for some time. Known for its strong presence in agriculture, mining, construction and industrial tyres, the company is now bringing that experience to everyday Indian roads.
With this announcement, Balkrishna Industries Limited has officially rolled out its highway tyre range for two wheelers and medium & heavy commercial vehicles. This is a clear shift from being a specialist off highway brand to becoming a wider mobility player in the country.
For motorcycle and scooter users, BKT has come up with two tyre lines.
- BKT Zenova is focused on daily city riding. It is build for comfort, grip and steady handling, and hence is suitable for regular commuting.
- BKT Thyros is designed for riders who are dealing with mixed road conditions. It supports both paved roads and rough surfaces including light off road use.
Both ranges are manufactured in India, tested in government facilities such as NATRAX in Indore and are BIS certified. They undergo checks for durability, braking and ride quality before being introduced in the market.
BKT is also entering the on road commercial tyre segment.
- m.Loadxpert tyres are designed for tough work like construction and cement transport.
- Milexpert RG tyres are built for regional cargo movement and long hours on highways.
These commercial tyres will be launched between April and June 2026 and are designed for strong casing, stability and high service life.
Along with the product launch, BKT has launched a new brand structure.
- BKT Tyres will now cover all tyre products.
- BKT Carbon will deal with carbon black and industrial materials.
The company is investing Rs 3,500 crore in India for expansion of manufacturing, research and its dealer network. It is aiming for revenue of Rs 23,000 crore by 2030, with consumer tyres likely to contribute in a meaningful manner.
For BKT, this entry is not a trial. It is a long term commitment that is backed by scale, testing and clear plans for growth.
