Enyimba attacker Abu Azeez has said he and his teammates will come back stronger after defeat to Zamalek in their opening clash in Group B of the CAF Champions League.
Basem Abdalla scored for Zamalek in the 8th minute following a mix up in the Enyimba’s defence as the home team lost 0-1 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium, Port Harcourt, on Sunday, June 19.
But according to Azeez, Enyimba still have a good chance to progress into the semi-finals.

Speaking exclusively to NAIJ.com, Azeez said his team lost to Zamalek due to bad luck.

What is your take on the game against Zamalek?
The game was that of a team with luck playing an unlucky side. Zamalek had fewer chances and took one of it. We had many chances but didn’t take them because of bad luck.
Your team hasn’t been able to win in five games now, what do you think is the problem?
There is no problem, these things happen in football. We are just going through a trying period but we will surely come back stronger in no time.
But as it stands your team is third in your group. Do you think your team can make into the semi-finals stage of the CAF Champions League?
Yes we can! This is just the first game; we still have five games to go, and that is a whole lot of game.
How do you think your team will perform away to Sundowns in your next game knowing fully well that a defeat there might halt your team’s chances at the competition?
We are aware of the importance of that game and we will give our all to make the fans proud again. Nothing is impossible; we can shock Sundowns on their home ground. That is football!
What message do you have for the fans after this defeat to Zamalek?
We thank God for their support, we promise to come back stronger, give our best and make them happy again, they should keep supporting us.
