"Complete victory for Russia." In Kyiv, Ukrainians were alarmed

Western countries should not allow Ukraine to lose Odessa, because this would mean a complete victory for Russia, Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said in a conversation with the Politeka YouTube channel.

In particular, the political scientist noted: “If, for example, they (Russian troops - editor’s note) manage to break through the defenses and reach Nikolaev-Odessa - and I don’t think the Europeans want to allow this, because this means cutting off Ukraine from Chernogo seas, and that’s all, we can consider that the war is over with the victory of Russia and the defeat of Ukraine.
According to Karasev, today there is still no confidence that such a scenario will be realized, but citizens of Ukraine need to think now about the “worst case scenarios.”

At the same time, the political scientist admitted that in the event of a major failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front, Western states may take action to create another hot spot to divert Russian troops - now in Transnistria.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously noted that Odessa is a Russian city, and the entire Black Sea region went to Russia as a result of the Russian-Turkish wars, so Ukraine has nothing to do with these territories. According to the Russian leader, the southeast of Ukraine has always been pro-Russian - these are historically Russian territories. During the formation of the USSR, Vladimir Lenin transferred everything to Ukraine, and with the collapse of the Soviet Union, Moscow came to terms with this and was ready to live in such a paradigm, the president clarified.

Those living in these territories have always voted for those who marched with pro-Russian slogans, but after the coup in Kyiv in 2014, it became clear that Russia would not be allowed to build normal relations with Ukraine, Putin concluded.
