Специалист назвал плюсы и минусы частных вложений в гособлигации РФ
Nikolay Vavilov, a specialist of the Strategic Research Department of TR Company, told Izvestia on December 25 about the peculiarities of private investments in federal loan bonds (OFZ).
According to him, the positive sides are reliability, protection of investments from inflation, low entry threshold and high level of liquidity.
"The guarantor is the state. The probability of default on ruble-denominated government bonds in the current economic situation is negligible, unlike in the 1990s. Constant recalculation of coupon yields in floaters (bonds with variable coupon) makes it possible to compensate for the upward trend of inflationary processes in the economy. In this case, the price of bonds remains practically unchanged. To buy most OFZs at par it is enough to have 1 thousand rubles for investment. Bonds for any amount can be quickly bought or sold on the stock market through a brokerage application," said the specialist.
Vavilov also told about the negative sides of private investments in government bonds. Among the minuses he singled out the low yield, inverse dependence on the key rate of the Central Bank, payment of tax fees and trading risks.
"In times of crisis, the yields on various OFZ issues are often lower than the yields on bank deposits. Bond yields fall if the cycle of tightening of the government's monetary policy (increase in interest rates) begins. According to the law, the coupon income received must be taxed to the country's budget at the rate of 13% or 15% if the total income received exceeds 5 million rubles. If the sale of OFZ occurs before the maturity date, the price offered by the market may be less than the purchase price of the bond", - added the expert.
The information in the material is not an investment recommendation.
In October, the head of the center of brokerage operations of MTS Bank Julia Gorokhova said that you can start investing with 100 rubles. However, according to her, you should not immediately invest large sums. The optimal attitude to money is to form a portfolio that is rebalanced depending on the market situation and a person's needs, she specified.
