This IT contractor pilot fish is working on a government research-and-development project based on Big Data analytics.
"There are two main ways to access the data that's used for our software processing," says fish. "First is a live stream of the data, using a JMS topic for access. We connected to this source and tested that we could read the live stream of data coming in.
"Our software also occasionally needs to retrieve historical data for the analytics process, so a programming interface is available to issue queries for a persistent store of the data that was streamed live.
