Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor Coordinate in Black Shoes for ‘Patriots’ Broadway Premiere
The "American Horror Story" actress' shoes were crafted from a rich black leather textile.
Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor arrived at the premiere of the Broadway show “Patriots” at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on April 22 in New York City while sporting a pair of black suede boots and black leather pointed-toe flats respectively.
Paulson typically gravitates towards more classic footwear silhouettes, having been photographed while sporting several pairs of monochromatic boots, pumps and sneakers. In fact, the “American Horror Story” actress attended Louis Vuitton‘s fall 2023 fashion show, held during Paris Fashion Week, in a pair of the brand’s silhouette ankle boots. Paulson‘s black booties featured knit uppers and ribbed shafts accented by Vuitton’s signature monogrammed floral pattern. Additionally, the shoes were crafted with brown-coated 3.1-inch canvas heels monogrammed in the same pattern.
From British playwright Peter Morgan, “Patriots” is a dramatic stage play that follows the life of a Russian businessman, played by actor Michael Stuhlbarg, during the decline of the Soviet Union. Paulson and longtime partner Taylor attended the show’s premiere alongside several other stars including Camila Canó-Flaviá, Ben Ahlers, Danielle Chaves, Alex Hurt and Peter Bradbury, among others.
About the Shoes
Paulson’s shoes, crafted from a rich black leather textile, featured a pointed-toe silhouette and rounded collar. Additionally, the shoes were set on a short block heel with no additional elevation.
Taylor’s choice of shoe, designed with soft black suede, featured a rounded-toe silhouette and an estimated 2-inch block heel in a caramel-colored wood material.
Black Flats: A Footwear Staple
A number of other celebrities have been seen donning the staple footwear silhouette while walking the red carpet, attending star-studded events and even being captured by street-style photographers. Most recently, Maya Hawke was seen sporting a pair of classic black leather ballet flats while attending the premiere of her newest film, “Wildcat” on April 18 in New York City. Hawk’s shoes featured a small bow detail on the center front and a traditional rounded toe.
