UFC 297 bettors are banking on upsets across the main card
Is the main card at UFC 297 already on upset alert?
UFC 297: Strickland vs. Du Plessis is setting up shop in Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Saturday night and fight fans are already anticipating some big upsets throughout the evening.
As betting on the main card picks up, BetMGM provided data showing bettors are hammering underdogs in four of the five fights. Only the main event between Strickland vs. Du Plessis features a slight edge on tickets and handle in favor of Sean Strickland.
Neil Magny opened +210 but has since shifted to +260 against Canada’s own Mike Malott (-350), who is undefeated in his last seven fights since 2015. While Malott has 89 percent of the handle riding on him at BetMGM, 63 percent of all bets placed are on Magny as of Friday.
Arnold Allen is another underdog seeing a ton of love from bettors as 68 percent of tickets and 62 percent of money wagered at BetMGM have the southpaw taking down undefeated Mosvar Evloev (17-0-0).
Will bettors be proven right? Or will the favorites clean up?
