DraftKings sues former exec over alleged plot to share company secrets with Fanatics: Everything we know
This story is WILD.
DraftKings is suing one of its former employees over an alleged “secret plan” to steal sensitive information and take it to a competitor, as first reported by Front Office Sports.
The civil complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, accuses former head of DraftKings VIP Michael Hermalyn of a year-long scheme that sounds like it came from straight out of a movie script.
Not only is he alleged to have stolen and used confidential information, the suit claims he made up lies about leaving the industry and mourning the loss of a friend. All, apparently, to cover his tracks of meeting and eventually accepting employment in the same role with rival Fanatics.
There’s so much more to this wild dispute, so here’s a quick rundown of everything we know.
