College basketball fans sent their best wishes to Florida's Micah Handlogten after a terrifying injury in the SEC title game
The Gators center left Sunday's game on a stretcher.
The Florida Gators went into Sunday’s SEC tournament title game against Auburn looking for their first conference tournament championship since 2014.
Instead, the game quickly turned insignificant to the Florida players.
Just a couple minutes into the game, Florida sophomore center Micah Handlogten went down with a serious leg injury, needing to leave a silent Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on a stretcher.
The injury was reminiscent of the compound fracture that former Louisville guard Kevin Ware suffered during the 2013 NCAA tournament, and the Florida players were clearly distressed to see their teammate go down in a such a way.
According to the broadcast, Handlogten arrived at a local hospital to receive treatment for the fractured leg.
