College basketball fans absolutely loved watching DJ Burns lead NC State to the Final Four by dominating Duke
The March hero we all needed.
The men’s Final Four is set for next weekend in Phoenix, and one team (and player) in particular has caught the attention of the college basketball world.
While UConn, Purdue and Alabama went into the tournament as reasonable Final Four candidates, very few saw No. 11 seed NC State carrying over its ACC tournament run into the Big Dance.
Well, fans now know to never doubt DJ Burns.
The NC State big man put up 29 points in the Wolfpack’s Elite Eight win over Duke and frustrated the Blue Devils’ Kyle Filipowski — who fouled out with 11 points — in the process. Burns’ energy was infectious the entire game, and it was easy to see why college basketball fans fell in love with his game.
Even his celebrations around the bench with his teammates were a show.
College hoops fans were pumped to see Burns continue his run to the Final Four.
