Kanpur HORROR: NEET Aspirant Kept Hostage, Assaulted And Burned; Brick Tied To Privates By Seniors
A minor student preparing for NEET exams in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh tortured, and even burned by some seniors after he unwittingly got trapped in a betting and debt-trap laid by the accused. The accused even stripped him and tied a brick to his private parts.
Kanpur Crime: A disturbing incident of torture, blackmail, and assault of a minor has come to the fore from Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh where an underage student, who is preparing for NEET exams, was allegedly thrashed, tortured, and even burned by some seniors after he unwittingly got trapped in a betting and debt-trap laid by the accused.
Videos of the shocking assault which have gone viral on social media platforms showed the minor students being viciously beaten by some senior students whom he reportedly owed money after borrowing from the to play an online betting game.
In one of the videos, the assailants even try to burn the victim’s hairs using a blowtorch, while another disturbing clip shows a brick tied to the boy’s private parts.

As per the police, the teenager, a resident of Etawah, recently moved to Kanpur to join coaching classes for the NEET competitive test where he came into contact with some senior students.
The accused men, who are allegedly running a debt-trap racket, wherein they entrap naive students by lending them money for betting and later blackmail them to pay back the amount with exorbitant interest– gave the victim Rs 20,000 to play an online betting game.
However, when the boy lost the money in the game, the accused men demanded him to pay them Rs 2 lakh instead of the Rs 20,000 he owed them, a senior official said, adding that the victim was unable to pay back the amount, following which they kept him hostage inside a locked room at their rented flat and repeatedly assaulted him.
The attackers filmed the acts of the disturbing assault, showing the victim being subjected to various types of torture during his hellish ordeal. Videos of the incident showed the accused seniors, viciously kicking and punching the minor student in his gut and private area, and one clip even shows him stripped naked and a brick hung from his privates.
Six accused arrested
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police Monday said they have arrested six suspects in connection with the incident after a video of the student’s ordeal went viral on the internet.
The victim’s parents have alleged that they had complained to the police in Etawah, informing them about the incident after their son narrated the ordeal following days and days of torture, but the cops let the attackers go with a slap on the wrist-esque “warning”.
However, the Kanpur police took cognizance after a video of the boy’s assault went viral on May 4. Six men, identified as Tanay Chaurasia, Abhishek Kumar Verma, Yogesh Vishwakarma, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Hargovind Tiwari, and Shiva Tripathi, have been arrested in the case, a senior officer said Monday.
The six accused have been booked under Sections 147, 34, 343, 323, 500, 506, and 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and have also been charged under provisions of the POCSO Act and Section 67(b) of the IT Act, the officer said.
Citing preliminary investigation, the officer said the accused students are running a racket from the their rented flat and blackmail naive and innocent students after luring them in a debt-trap.
