Sasquatch takes center stage for Oklahoma’s newest state park beer

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Summertime is right around the corner and the state tourism department collaborated with local brewery Stonecloud for something everyone can enjoy during the eclipse or at the lake.
So, if you’ve ever wanted to bond with Bigfoot, now’s your chance. Stonecloud’s Bonding with Bigfoot American lager was announced Monday and each case sold sends some proceeds to state parks.
On the label, the mysterious, but well known creature can be seen toasting a drink by the campfire.
"Some people think of Bigfoot as scary. We wanted to put a spin on it,” Stonecloud’s marketing employee Josh Masterson said. "Instead of being scary and abrasive, what if he just cracked a beer with you?"
Masterson said the idea and collaboration with state tourism stems from the brewery owners and employees love of all outdoor activities.
"It's light, easy drink for camping, a night out by the fire, just as the name suggests," he said.
"It's very easy to be enthusiastic about it,” Executive Director of Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Shelley Zumwalt said. “I also think that we have so many private business, people that are really looking to support our state parks."
Zumwalt said each case sold send $1.50 to benefit Oklahoma’s state parks. The 4.3 percent ABV lager is set to be released Friday. It will be exclusively available in the Beavers Bend Marina and The Lookout Kitchen for the Eclipse. A statewide release of the beer is set for April 12.
"We want to encourage people to get out there and bond with Bigfoot,” Masterson said.
