The Coast Guard medevaced a 56-year-old man Saturday from an offshore facility approximately 95 miles south of Port Fourchon.
NEW ORLEANS (KLFY) — The Coast Guard medevaced a 56-year-old man Saturday from an offshore floating outer continental shelf facility approximately 95 miles south of Port Fourchon, authorities said.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a report from the Helix Producer 1 of an unidentified crew member experiencing kidney stone symptoms.
Watchstanders coordinated the launch of an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew and Coast Guard Ocean Sentry aircrew to assist.
The helicopter aircrew arrived on scene, landed on helicopter pad, transferred the man aboard the helicopter and transported him to a New Orleans hospital, officials said.
The man was last reported to be in stable condition.
