SUNSET, La. (KLFY) -- The Sunset community is rallying to help a family with the damage to their property from Monday's severe weather.
The severe weather has come and gone in St. Landry Parish, but for the Menard family the clean up continues. The good news is, Nick Menard said he is receiving plenty of help from his neighbors, community and even his coworkers.
"We've been through some hurricanes, Ida and the remnants of Katrina. We go wind and all that, but nothing like this," Menard said.
Menard says although the damage has caught them by surprise, they have already received calls from those wanting to help clean up.
"The damage is pretty good, but we are going to come together as a family. I've already received calls from work, and have coworkers, even the boss himself coming to lend and helping hand. We are going to get it cleaned up and move forward," Menard explained.
Menard said he expects to clean up the damage over the course of this week with those coming to help, but is glad that him and his family are all safe.
