One dead, one wounded in Opelousas shooting Tuesday night
Opelousas Police said they received a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Park Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday
OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- One person was killed and another hospitalized in a shooting overnight in Opelousas, authorities said.
Opelousas Police said they received a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Park Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, where officers found multiple shell casings in the vicinity.
Shortly after, OPD was alerted to two gunshot victims who had been transported to a local hospital. One of the victims died, the other victim is currently in stable condition receiving medical treatment.
The identity of the deceased victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
