Sunny skies, thunderstorms on Saturday in Oregon, Washington

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A mix of sun and clouds can be found over the Portland-Vancouver area Saturday, but thunderstorms will build in Central Oregon by the afternoon.
Sunny skies will help temperatures around Portland warm into the low to mid-70s Saturday afternoon. It's those very same temperatures that will help fuel the threat of severe weather in the central regions by the afternoon and evening hours.
Portland stays clear of any severe weather threat on Saturday, but a stray rain shower or two is possible during the overnight hours. No real rain accumulation is expected over the northern Willamette Valley on Saturday or even Sunday.
The threat of severe weather decreases on Sunday as cooler conditions work their way back into the region. Afternoon temperatures will remain near average with highs in the mid-60s.
Temperatures will fall slightly by the start of the week, but will return to spring-like conditions by the middle and end of the week. Monday and Tuesday's rain chances will not amount to much in the rain gauge next week.
