North Austin vehicle-scooter collision sends 1 to hospital with serious injuries

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A person was taken to an Austin hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries after a vehicle and scooter collided Thursday in north Austin.
Austin-Travis County EMS tweeted about the collision at 7:51 p.m., saying it happened in the 1200 block of Rutland Drive near the intersection with Stonebridge Drive. That's a few blocks west of Lamar Boulevard and one block north of Rundberg Lane.
The victim, an adult, was declared a trauma alert and rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center, medics said.
Avoid the area if possible and people should expect traffic delays as crews continue to work in the area.
