(WXIN/KXAN) – After teasing fans with a cinnamon roll-based social media post, Blue Bell Ice Cream unveiled its newest ice cream on Monday, putting a twist on a cinnamon flavor.
Blue Bell's new Cinnamon Twist ice cream will arrive in stores in the company's distribution areas beginning Monday. The new flavor will be available in half-gallon and pint sizes for a limited time.
The ice cream is described as having hints of brown sugar and cinnamon, combined with cinnamon bun dough pieces and a cinnamon icing swirl.
“We have put a twist on a popular pastry by turning it into a great-tasting ice cream,” Joe Robertson, the executive director of advertising and marketing for Blue Bell, said in the release. “The perfect cinnamon twist has a soft, almost gooey texture. The cinnamon bun dough pieces in our new Cinnamon Twist Ice Cream capture this perfectly. And the delicious cinnamon icing swirl complements the ice cream and tasty dough pieces. It is a sweet twist our fans will enjoy.”
Blue Bell also announced the return of two other ice cream flavors, according to the release:
- I ❤ Cereal, a fruit cereal-flavored ice cream with sprinkles and coated cereal pieces
- Tin Roof, a Blue Bell staple featuring vanilla-flavored ice cream, chocolate sundae sauce and roasted peanuts dipped in dark chocolate
