Rouse High School coach charged with sexual assault
A Rouse High School staff member was arrested and charged with sexual assault, according to Williamson County jail records.
LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) -- A Rouse High School staff member was arrested and charged with sexual assault, according to Williamson County jail records.
Jail records show Brandon Matthew Hopp was booked on Tuesday on a charge of sexual assault. Confirmed in a letter sent out to parents, Hopp is a coach and teacher at the school. The letter said he was on administrative leave.
Attorney information for Hopp wasn't available as of Tuesday afternoon. KXAN will update this story when new information is received.
The Leander Police Department and Leander Independent School District confirmed last week they were investigating a possible inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student at a high school, according to a previous letter from the school.
On Feb. 16, the district was informed of an incident that happened at Rouse High School. Leander ISD said the person accused of the inappropriate relationship was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by LPD and the district, the letter said.
