4 arrested on drug charges in Elgin following raid
Four people were arrested Friday during a raid in Elgin in connection with criminal activities, according to the Elgin Police Department.
ELGIN, Texas (KXAN) — Four people were arrested Friday during a raid in Elgin in connection with criminal activities, according to the Elgin Police Department.
During the raid, Elgin PD said detectives also seized multiple firearms, various narcotics, U.S. currency and electronics in addition to the four arrests.
Police said Angela Alvarado, Ivan Cook and Anthony Joiner face charges for the delivery of a controlled substance, and Jamaal Bradley was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
According to Elgin PD, it has conducted several investigations in the 800 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for “violent crimes, drug trafficking, and the continuous and unyielding nuisance activities.”
Police said that, in the area, there was a double murder in March 2023, other reports of gunshots, multiple assaults, as well as narcotics use, sales and trafficking.
“Over the last year EPD officers have conducted surveillance and made numerous arrests of individuals associated with the property for narcotics such as fentanyl, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine,” police said.
The Austin and Houston DEA field offices, along with the Williamson and Bastrop County Sheriff’s Offices, assisted in the raid, according to EPD.
