ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — City, county and transportation leaders celebrated the grand opening of a $27.4 million roundabout project at RM620 and Chisholm Trail this week.
The City of Round Rock, Texas Department of Transportation and Williamson County team up to build the project.
Along with a roundabout at RM 620, overpasses have been added at Chisholm Trail and Lake Creek Drive.
In a social media post, the City of Round Rock said the overpasses will allow drivers to avoid railroad crossings in the area, in an effort to reduce congestion and improve safety along the corridor.
The City of Round Rock said the project also widened lanes, added frontage roads and improved pedestrian accessibility near Round Rock High School.
