Sheriff: Woman shoots alleged kidnapper, deputy finds man dead

GILLESPIE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Law enforcement found a man dead Friday after a woman called 911 and said she shot her alleged kidnapper, according to the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office.
Around 12:42 p.m., first responders received a call from a woman who said she was drugged and kidnapped, according to GCSO.
The sheriff's office said the woman was located near a winery on East US Highway 290. A deputy found a vehicle that matched the woman's description and found a dead man in the front seat area, according to the sheriff's office.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office. The man's identity was not shared, pending family notification.
