BURNET COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) -- Late last month, a Burnet County judge sentenced a Kingsland man to 99 years in prison, after he was found guilty of possessing a large quantity of methamphetamines with an intent to distribute.
In addition to the sentence, Judge Allan Garrett said Daniel Limon, 29, has to pay a fine of $250,000.
Llano County Sheriff's deputies pulled Limon over for a traffic stop in Kingsland, and a vehicle search revealed he had 984 grams of methamphetamine "hidden in a speaker," according to a news release from the Burnet County District Attorney's Office.
Limon attempted to run from deputies, but he was "eventually caught and arrested in a backyard in a nearby neighborhood," the release said.
Evidence presented during Limon's trial included two previous conviction for possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine back in 2016 in Llano County, the release said. He was sentenced to 12 years in both cases, and he served seven years before he was released on parole.
