Road construction prompts lane closures on South Lamar, West Oltorf
The city is starting construction between Oltorf Street and West Mary Street, expected to last through mid-May.
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Austin commuters who take South Lamar or West Oltorf may be facing more congestion starting Tuesday.
The city is starting construction between Oltorf Street and West Mary Street, which is expected to last through mid-May.
During construction, South Lamar will be down to one lane either northbound or southbound.
Phase 1 of construction will include work on the intersection at South Lamar Blvd. and West Oltorf Street. The southbound side of South Lamar Blvd. will be down to one lane.
Phase 2 will bring Oltorf Street westbound down to one lane, and South Lamar Blvd. northbound down to one lane.
Intermittent lane closures will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the weekends.
The city said there will be a dedicated path for cyclists and pedestrians.
