Kianna Williams and Adam Manson dumped their 6-month-old son Jacsun in the trash in January. Police scoured the local landfill for weeks before Williams finally admitted what happened to the baby. The search resumed Tuesday.
A mother and father dumped their six month-old son in the trash, then refused to help police find his body, it is claimed.
Kianna Williams and Adam Manson allegedly threw their son, Jacsun Manson’s lifeless body in a garbage bin at a Culver City, California mall in January, police say.
The couple were held in jail and refused to admit what happened to the baby, whose body was believed to be buried in a the El Sobrante Landfill. On Tuesday, authorities resumed the search that had stalled out for weeks.
‘Today we resumed after I believe it’s been a few weeks now with some experts that can help us track down a little bit more of a specific area,’ Culver City Police Lieutenant Troy Dunlap told Metro US on Tuesday.
‘We tracked the trash bin where it would have been dumped and that’s how we ended up out in the landfill. We originally started searching the landfill, realizing that his body could possibly be up to 80 feet down below several hundred tons of trash.’

For weeks, Williams and Manson refused to cooperate with authorities, who held them in jail on contempt of court charges reissued every two days by a family courts judge.
‘They were being held in custody by the family court judge on contempt of court every other day until they told the judge where the baby was,’ Dunlap said.
‘The judge would call them out from custody and they’d go in front of the judge, who’d go “Hey, where’s the baby. We need more information”…Finally the detectives went back and re-interviewed the mother and then she finally admitted this is what happened.’
Both Manson and Williams have been charged with felony child endangerment, not murder, because it is unclear how Jacsun died and it is unlikely that police will be able to determine his cause of death- even if they find the body.
‘They did admit to being high on methamphetamine and other drugs so we’re thinking that’s probably why (prosecutors) are charging them with neglect because they were high on meth and something happened to the child. They haven’t admitted why they did it, but that’s something they admitted,’ Dunlap said, and added that DNA would be necessary determine how Jacsun died.

‘They compact the trash. It was such a small child and with it being compacted like that it would be very difficult to get any kind of DNA (from his body)’ Dunlap said.
The couple is being held in police custody until their arraignment on Thursday.
