Mom who ‘killed son, 3, during game of chicken’ screeches and wails as she’s thrown in jail

A mother accused of killing her three year-old son by running him over during a game of chicken wailed in agony as she was jailed.
Lexus Stagg’s shoulders shook with anguish during Monday’s court hearing in Houston, Texas, which saw her bond raised from $1,500 to $25,000 following the death of her son Lord Renfro.
That meant Stagg was put in custody ahead of her next court appearance, following the June 11 incident which killed her son.
Prosecutor Sean Teare condemned Stagg after Monday’s courtroom drama, which saw the alleged killer supported by her husband.
He told KHOU: ‘She truly played a ‘game of chicken’ with her 3-year-old, 5-year-old, and 2-year-old children.
‘That’s not okay, even if no one had been hurt, that’s not okay.
‘This is the definition of endangering children, and this one had the worst possible outcome.’
If Stagg makes her newly-increased bond amount, she has been barred from seeing her surviving children.
‘Chicken’ sees a car and pedestrian or two cars face off and drive towards one another on a collision course, with whoever swerves first branded ‘chicken.’
Lord’s death was initially believed to be a tragic accident, with Stagg claiming to have reversed over the youngster.
She is said to have told police that she mistook the impact for her SUV striking a pothole.
But disturbing surveillance footage obtained by police reportedly showed Lord being struck by his mother’s white SUV as it drove forward.
Lord was caught under the car’s right tire after the initial impact, but Stagg kept on driving, and ended up driving over him twice.
After her son’s horrific death, Stagg posted a gushing tribute to Lord on Facebook, writing: ‘God What Do I Tell My 5 Year Old Daughter Who Witnessed Her Brothers Death.
