Reckless motorist driving at 80mph smashes head-first into woman’s car

The woman was unable to start her new job and has been left with life changing injuries.

A speeding driver left a woman with a broken foot, leg and fractured ribs after smashing into her car at 80 miles per hour.

Jodie Wynne was unable to start a new job due to the life changing injuries inflicted on her by Samuel Tiley, 24.

Dash-cam footage shows the moment his Subaru Impreza hurled down a road in Winterbourne, near Bristol, straight into Jodie’s oncoming Ford Fiesta.

He was banned from driving and jailed for 16 months on August 7 at Bristol Crown Court.

The court heard Tiley was driving around twice the 40mph speed limit when he crashed into Jodie on February 6 last year.

The footage shows him overtaking one car before swerving into the path of a bus.

He almost flips over as he smashes onto the curb and crashing head on with the Ford Fiesta .

His wing mirror can be seen flying into the air due to the force of the crash.

Tiley pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving – just one week after he was caught driving at 70mph through a 50mph limit.

Tabitha Macfarlane, defending, said Tiley may have been suffering the bereavement of his mum around the time of her birthday.

She added: ‘He doesn’t want to drive again. He is really sorry. He is truly devastated for what he has done.’

As well as breaking several bones, Jodie was left severely bruised.

She told the court she can’t straighten her leg or fully bend her knee.

She declined to comment further as she left the court.
