Mum wins £10k a month for 30 years but refuses to ditch Skegness holiday
Vicky Mitchell had three lottery wins in a week - including the big one.
A mother-of-two who scooped a top prize on the National Lottery says she will still take her upcoming caravan holiday in Skegness.
Vicky Mitchell has won £10,000 a month for the next 30 years but is adamant her routine won’t change too much.
The 42-year-old had an astonishing three wins on the lottery in the space of just a week.
She reinvested one of her small wins and came up trumps on the Set for Life game.
Vicky and her partner of 18 years, Adam Fry, will now rake in £120,000 a year until they are pensioners.
The pair say they have no plans to marry and both plan to carry on working.
Vicky, of Halifax, West Yorkshire, said the pair hope to travel to European cities, starting with a celebratory trip to Ibiza.
But they will not be cancelling their forthcoming trip to Skegness next year despite the ‘life-changing’ sum.
She said: ‘You can’t beat a caravan holiday with the kids. They love it. We’ve already booked for next year.’
Vicky, a part-time admin assistant said the win will give financial security to her sons, aged eight and 19.
Beforehand, money was tight and Vicky would count every penny in a spreadsheet drawn up three months in advance.
The couple said they wanted to splash out on a new family car and were considering a move from their current two-bed terrace.
Vicky added: ‘I Googled “best family car” and Skoda came up as best family car. So, I’ve seen a little one that’ll be enough for me.’
Vicky explained how the win was her third lottery win in a week.
She said she played online as she was heading to Skegness for a break with her younger son.
Having won £10 on the Thunderball draw, she re-invested the cash and won £5 five days later on the Set for Life game.
When she re-invested that win, she hit the jackpot when she played with the last £1.50 left in her online account to buy a line for the August 12 draw.
Her lucky dip winning numbers were 03, 20, 26, 27, 32 and the life ball 05.
She continued: ‘In a million years you never think you’ll win big but this is life-changing.’
Vicky woke up Adam early in the morning after she received an email telling her of the win.
Adam, however, went back to sleep because he did not believe her.
Vicky added: ‘I was half asleep when I saw the email and thought “great it’s another fiver”. I couldn’t work it out and see what I had actually won. It said I had to log on.’
‘It’s still sinking in but whereas before I would see a jumper for one of my sons and think that I couldn’t afford it, I can now just buy it.’
