Racist posed with gun for pictures he shared online with Nazi captions

Jay Davidson is facing jail for inciting religious hatred with comments that included: 'F**k you racist Allah c**ts'.

A man is facing jail time after posting pictures alongside ‘threatening’ white supremacist comments using Nazi terminology to his Instagram page.

Jay Davidson, 38, was found guilty of inciting religious and racial hatred after urging people to ‘stand up’ in the captions of two pictures of himself posing topless with a fake shotgun.

Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke warned that prison was ‘inevitable’ for Davidson, who wrote captions including: ‘F*** you racist Allah c****’, and: ‘Ever seen a white man cut a head off?’

Another of his online posts read: ‘Heil, heil, heil, f**k Allah c**t’.

Jennifer Josephs, prosecuting, said: ‘These posts were extremely offensive.

‘The images showed him bare chested holding a shotgun. He then left comments below those images.

‘In his comments he talked about beheading and was using language that you normally associate with white supremacists.’

Davidson told his trial that the pictures were ‘drunken stupidity’ and denied posting the comments to stir up racial and religious hate.

He said: ‘It was terrible judgement on my behalf and I should not have posted it.

‘It was drunken stupidity. When I am sober I am a completely different person.’

Police caught wind of Davidson’s Instagram page – which had the username Rudebina – when a screenshot of his post was sent to a community WhatsApp group.

After being arrested at his home in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, he told officers he had posted the pictures after ‘a heavy night of drinking’.

It took the jury just over an hour to find him guilty of one count of inciting religious hatred and two counts of inciting racial hatred.

He was found not guilty of two other counts of inciting religious hatred.

After the case, Jenny Hopkins from the CPS said his ‘inevitable’ jail time could act as a warning to other people who post similar material online.

She said: ‘The material Jay Davison posted was clearly threatening, abusive and insulting. His intention can only have been to stir up religious and racial hatred.

‘His defence that he regretted his actions and was drunk was rejected by the jury.

‘This is a warning to people that posting material online can have damaging consequences for them offline.’

Davidson will be sentenced on September 23.
