An alleged cannibal killer ‘straddled’ his 90-year-old grandmother while ‘actively pulling out her flesh with his hands,’ police said.

Dwayne Wallick, 37, has been arrested and charged with murder for the horrific killing of his grandmother, Ruby Wallick, in Richmond, California on Monday

Police received a call from Ruby Wallick’s daughter who told them she found her mother ‘bleeding on the family room floor and her nephew in the room covered in blood,’ Richmond Police spokesman Sergeant Aaron Pomeroy said.

Officers found Wallick on top of his grandmother ‘actively pulling out her flesh with his hands’ when they arrived. They ordered Wallick to stop, but he ignored them and continued mutilating his grandmother’s corpse, Pomeroy said, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Police used a taser on Wallick, but after the five-second shock from the stun gun subsided, Wallick became ‘extremely aggressive,’ according to Pomeroy.

A struggle ensued and four officers were reportedly needed to drag Wallick out of the home as he continued trying to fight with them.

Wallick was transported to a hospital to be treated for injuries unrelated to the struggle with police, Pomeroy said, adding that he is not on a psychiatric hold. He was reportedly still in the hospital as of Wednesday and will be booked into jail once he is released.

‘I’ve seen it all in 26 years of law enforcement. I have never seen a crime scene of a victim that badly injured,’ Pomeroy said.

Dwayne Wallick lived with his grandmother and had been her caregiver. Her daughter reportedly does not live at the house, but stumbled upon the horrific scene when she arrived to pick up her mother.

Authorities have not released a motive for the murder and said they believe Wallick was under the influence of some type of synthetic stimulant during the attack, Pomeroy said.

Wallick has been charged with second-degree murder and has no prior criminal history or known mental health issues.
