Who is Mary Trump and when will the US President’s niece release her memoir?
President Donald Trump’s niece Mary is due to release a memoir all about the Trump family and how they ‘created the World’s Most Dangerous Man’.
The book is called Too Much And Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man and it’s set to be released just weeks before the President is due to accept the Republican party’s nomination for the November election.
Ahead of the book’s release, here’s what you need to know about the President’s niece and when the book is coming out in the UK.
Who is Mary Trump?
Mary Trump, 55, is Donald Trump’s niece – her father was the President’s older brother Fred Trump Jr, who passed away in 1981.
According to the Amazon page for her upcoming book: ‘Mary L. Trump holds a PhD from the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies and taught graduate courses in trauma, psychopathology, and developmental psychology.
‘She lives with her daughter in New York.’
According to a now-deleted LinkedIn page, Mary works as a professional life coach at The Trump Coaching Group in New York, which is a company she started eight years ago. The page also said she served as CEO of the company.
While Mary has been vocal in criticising her uncle in the past, she’s kept herself mostly out of the public eye during his administration until now.
She appears to be a democrat and tweeted in support of the President’s opponent Hillary Clinton around the time of the 2016 election
This family feud goes back at least two decades as, in 2000, Mary and her brother filed a lawsuit against their aunts and uncles – including the President – concerning the money that was left to them by their grandfather Fred Trump Sr.
According to the New York Daily News, Mary and Fred III said their grandfather’s will was ‘procured by fraud and undue influence’ as Fred Sr was battling dementia.
The case ended up being settled behind closed doors.
Mary’s book is set to come out next month on Tuesday, 28 July.
The blurb for the book on Amazon says that in it, Mary ‘describes a nightmare of traumas, destructive relationships, and a tragic combination of neglect and abuse.’
It goes on: ‘She explains how specific events and general family patterns created the damaged man who currently occupies the Oval Office, including the strange and harmful relationship between Fred Trump and his two oldest sons, Fred Jr. and Donald.’
In the book, Mary is also expected to say that she was a main source for The New York Times’s Pulitzer Prize-winning piece on the President’s finances.
On Sunday, a spokeperson for the publication declined to comment.
