Another 233 people have died after testing positive for Covid-19, bringing the UK’s death toll to 41,969.
The figures, released by the Department of Health and Social Care on Tuesday, account for deaths across all settings, including in care homes and the community.
In total, 298,136 people have tested positive for the virus.
In Wales another eight people have died, Scotland recorded another five and Northern Ireland confirmed one.
The figures come after further lockdown restrictions were eased on Monday.

Non-essential shops, department stores and outdoor attractions such as zoos opened their doors to the public for the first time in two months.
Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures released this morning reveal that the UK has recorded its lowest death toll for nine weeks.
The data, along with the most recent NHS England figures, suggest the total number of coronavirus deaths across the UK is still substantially higher than the government’s statistics.
According to the ONS figures, there have been 53,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK – around 10,000 more than government figures have suggested.
