Moment woman is fatally shot by police officer after she pulled gun and shot him

This is the moment a woman was fatally shot by a police officer after she shot him while being tasered. Nika Holbert, 31, died shortly after being pulled over in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday morning.
She was shot by Metro Nashville Officer Josh Baker, who was himself struck in the torso from by bullets from Holbert’s gun, and rushed to hospital for surgery afterwards. A clip of the fatal encounter was released by Metro Nashville Police in the wake of the shooting.
It showed Holbert’s black Chevy Camaro being pulled over after Baker realized the sports car’s registered owner – Demond Buchanan – was wanted on outstanding drugs charges.
Holbert was alone in the car at the time, and was initially filmed calmly complying with Baker while explaining that the car did not belong to her. She stepped out of the Camaro, and was filmed calling her mother for help while Baker searched her bag.
But the arrest escalated when the police officer spotted what appeared to be marijuana and a white powdery substance in the car, and went to put Holbert in handcuffs.
She yelled ‘No, don’t put me in handcuffs,’ and began running away with her bag while Baker said: ‘You’re about to get tased.’
Holbert cried ‘No,’ while Baker twice told her to ‘get down on the ground’ and got back into the driver’s seat of her car while shouting: ‘I didn’t do nothing.’
She continued to scream while being tased, and shouted ‘Help me,’ before saying ‘I didn’t do nothing’ to Baker.
Baker then saw Holbert reaching for her gun, and shouted ‘Ma’am, put your gun down.’
Her final audible words were ‘I didn’t do nothing,’ before she shot at Baker, and he returned fire. The driver’s door glass of the Camaro shattered as Baker fell to the ground, and Holbert managed to start the car.
She was filmed driving off, and crashed the Camaro at a nearby intersection. Emergency responders performed CPR on Holbert, who later died in hospital.
The bullet she fired at Baker struck him in the torso under his bulletproof vest. He is expected to survive his injuries.
Nashville Metro Police released bodycam footage of the incident on its YouTube channel.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and prosecutors from Davidson County District Attorney’s Office are reviewing the footage, and will share its findings once the probe is complete.
