Fuming mum says Christmas has been ruined after buying ‘mouldy’ Cheestrings
She has no idea what she's going to put on her cheese platter anymore.
A mum’s Christmas cheese platter is in tatters after finding the Cheestrings she bought from Tesco had gone off.
The woman, from Plymouth, opened up a pack of the popular snack to find them covered in what appears to be black mould, despite it being three months before their best before date.
She’d had them dropped off as part of a supermarket delivery before Christmas and hoped they would encourage her children to eat more dairy.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared pictures of the offending Cheestrings, and said her kids were devastated.
The label shows that the item’s best before date is March 30, 2022.
She said: ‘Our Christmas cheese platter has been ruined by these mouldy Cheestrings. The kids are devastated.
‘The only way to get dairy into them is in Cheestrings and now they won’t eat them because they are mouldy.
‘Thankfully they didn’t eat them. I can’t get to Tesco to pick up a replacement and I had ordered it as a delivery. The kids are gutted.’
The dairy-loving mum said she contacted Tesco about the order using their online complaints form.
She said she’d only received an automated response to her email which told her the address is not monitored.
