Rapper ‘kidnapped pregnant woman and held her hostage in garage for five years’

A rapper has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a pregnant woman and holding her prisoner for up to five years.
Lee Carter, 52, who performs under the stage name, Viper, is accused of snatching the mum-to-be off the street before keeping her locked in a garage attached to his home in Houston, Texas, where he is said to have repeatedly drugged and raped her.
Police were called to do a welfare check at an address in Perry Street on April 7 last year, when they heard a voice coming from the garage, court documents said.
Officers smashed a window to discover the victim, thought to be 30, weighing just over five stone (70lbs).
They also found a dog and a mattress inside the garage, described as ‘filthy and unhygienic’.
The woman said she met Carter when she was panhandling – begging for money on the streets – four or five years ago.
Carter gave her a dollar before offering her help if she got in his car.
Court documents said the ‘defendant would force her to take pills along with crack cocaine and other illegal narcotics, causing her to become physically unable to leave the location.’
The victim previously tried to escape, on one occasion breaking a window in the garage and crawling out.
But Carter found her at a hospital and took her back to the make-shift prison – boarding up the windows to ensure she did not make another bid for freedom, it is claimed.
The victim eventually contacted police using Carter’s laptop.
It is currently unknown what happened with her pregnancy.
Carter was arrested on Friday, although reports suggest a warrant was filed against him in April.
He has now been charged with aggravated kidnapping and is currently being held at Harris County Jail in Texas on a $100,000 bond.
