The truth is out there.
The mystery of the wandering Brazilian alien appears to have finally been solved.
Social media has been alight this week after footage captured by tourists during a mountainous hike in the Brazilian island of Ilha do Mel appeared to show a 10ft tall ‘alien’ roaming the hillside.
Amateur Ufologists pounced upon the footage within minutes of it being posted, declaring the towering beings to be alien visitors making an expedition to Earth.
One TikTok user ‘Ana.vi’ said: ‘I have a house there, the day this happened all the residents were in shock.’
One local even quipped it was footballer Peter Crouch, to which the ex-England international responded: ‘We were on a family holiday, please respect our privacy at this time.’
The government of Paraná State even made light of the alleged sighting, with a spokesperson claiming: ‘Our summer is from another world.
‘Even strange beings come here to enjoy our coastline.’
But it turns out the truth is something a little more mundane.

Following days of speculation, the ‘alien’ has finally revealed himself to be none other than Italian basketball star Felipe Motta.
Felipe, who plays for Brazil’s Flamengo club, said: ‘I went on a trail to enjoy nature and this view.
‘But then people took a photo of me, sent it to the gossip page and called me strange.’
Felipe, who measures up at just two metres (6.5 feet) says he often gets teased about his height but this one was off the scale.
He said: ‘Some things have to stop.’
