Major search after child, three, falls into river
Reports that the child fell into the River Soar in Leicestershire first came in at around 5pm.
Emergency services are searching for a three-year-old child who is believed to have fallen into a river.

Police and the fire service, including water rescue teams, are at the scene near Aylestone Road in Braunstone. There’s also a police cordon in place.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service told the BBC: ‘This is a police-led incident. We can confirm we were alerted at 17:05 and still have water rescue teams at the scene.’
A police spokesman told The Sun: ‘Police and emergency services are dealing with an incident near to Aylestone Road, Braunstone, following reports of a three-year-old child falling into the River Soar around 5pm today.
‘All services are in attendance as the search for the child continues.
‘Further updates will be given when appropriate.’
