‘Charming’ three-bedroom home for sale at £125,000 has a terrible secret

A ‘delightful’ three-bedroom home for sale in Wales should be an ideal family home.

But the property in Heol Cadifor, Swansea, listed for £125,000, has an unpleasant past.

The home was put on Rightmove yesterday by online estate agent Purplebricks, and if it wasn’t for the graffiti covering the walls, it would look completely normal.

Estate agents described the home as being ‘nestled in a popular and convenient location’, with no chain so buyers can ‘seize the opportunity to secure your dream home’.

The online listing includes 13 completely normal pictures of the house – but the 14th picture reveals the exterior of the property is covered in graffiti reading ‘paedo’ and ‘nonce’.

This is because one of the home’s former residents was Tommy Allington, who was jailed for 24 years after admitting filming himself sexually abusing a baby and sharing the images with other paedophiles.

The 25-year-old former primary school assistant assaulted and raped the infant in a ‘sustained campaign’ of sexual abuse, WalesOnline reported at the time, and pleaded guilty to 17 charges.

Police received information about his indecent images through Instagram and found a secret phone hidden in the attic which had more than 1,500 indecent images of children saved.

Allington shared those images with fellow paedophiles on messaging app Telegram, where he ‘boasted’ about his activities and discussed the advantages of abusing infants, because they’re unable to tell anyone what had happened to then.

Allington was bailed to the house in Swansea, which locals say still belongs to his grandmother – but she was driven out after crowds gathered to protest a paedophile living in their community, MailOnline reports.

Residents share their surprise that the home was put on the market without the spray paint being removed first.

Cath Arnold, 63, who lives opposite, said: ‘What are they thinking – surely they realise that’s going to put prospective buyers off.

‘I’ve had to put up with it for over a year – I’m sick of looking at it. If I had my health I’d go over there and paint over it myself.

‘I’m glad it’s gone on the market but they’re never going to sell it with those words daubed all over it.

‘As far as I know it is still owned by the family of the convicted paedophile but they are long gone.

‘The RSPCA had to be called after they cleared off because the place was full of cats and dogs. I’ve got one of their cats now.’

A Purplebricks spokesperson said: ‘We have removed this listing whilst we work with the vendor to investigate the next steps.’
