Tragedy as woman dies during childbirth because her Jehovah’s Witness husband refused to allow her receive blood transfusion
A female member of the Jehovah’s Witness religious organization has died during childbirth, following her husband’s refusal to give permission for her to receive blood transfusion. The man said it was a sin to receive such.

A female member of the Jehovah’s Witness religious organization has died during childbirth, following her husband’s refusal to give permission for her to receive blood transfusion.
According to Vanguard, the woman had been in labour for days; yet her husband refused to allow her receive the transfusion as he stated that it was against the Jehovah’s Witness doctrine.

NAIJ.com gathers that the man threatened to go to court when the attending doctor wanted to go ahead by force.
The doctor reportedly pleaded with the husband; but he vehemently refused, stating that it was a sin for Jehovah’s Witness to accept ‘unknown blood’.
According to the report, the man stated that God would not fail them as they had served him all their lives.
After the refusal by the husband, the doctor went back to ask the woman if there was a relative nearby who could donate blood; and she cried, begging her husband to allow her get the transfusion. Still, he refused.
Afterwards, considering that the man was unflinching, the hospital advised him to take his wife to LUTH or another health institution which would condole non-blood transfusion.
He was told to get an ambulance to transport his wife; however, he went and got a Volvo car meant to convey dead people.
The woman reportedly passed on afterwards.

In a related development, NAIJ.com previously reported that a Nigerian Jehovah Witness lady died of excess bleeding during child delivery because her church does not permit her to accept blood transfusion.
The person who shared the news on Facebook, Ossai Ovie Success, posted the picture of the lady with the caption: “Peace Euodia died of excess bleeding during child delivery because her church, Jehovah Witness Church, does not permit her to accept blood transfusion.
"Why will Jehovah Witness church not allow her to receive blood from someone because of church tradition.
“Rest in PEACE EUDIA. COMBINED SOCIAL SCIENCE CLASS OF 2011 UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA has lost a rare gem. We will mourn your death together with your family. Adieu.”
