Ducklings saved from storm drain in Dutchess County
The Fishkill Town Police Department rescued four ducklings from a storm drain on Saturday. Sgt. Jason Murtagh and Officer Kelly Aluisio made the heroic save with a local wildlife rescue group after getting a call about the ducklings trapped in a storm drain at the entrance of Walmart off State Route 9.
FISHKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Fishkill Town Police Department rescued four ducklings from a storm drain on Saturday. Sgt. Jason Murtagh and Officer Kelly Aluisio made the heroic save with a local wildlife rescue group after getting a call about the ducklings trapped in a storm drain at the entrance of Walmart off State Route 9.
Police determined the mother Mallard duck had been hit by a vehicle and the ducklings were left alone. All Seasons Wildlife Removal owner Lloyd Frisbee entered and retrieved the ducklings from the drain. The ducklings were given to a local veterinarian to be rehabilitated and released back into the wild.
