Former Seahawks Star Hears Rumblings of Russell Wilson Joining Falcons
One Seattle legend freely speculated about another.
For over seven weeks now, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has been in limbo.
On Dec. 27, reports began to trickle out that the Broncos intended to bench Wilson for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season despite the fact that he had rebounded nicely from an awful 2022 campaign. The general consensus among NFL observers is that the nine-time Pro Bowler will be headed elsewhere in 2024.
On Thursday morning's edition of Up & Adams, former Seattle Seahawks star running back Shaun Alexander offered a quasi-prediction about where Wilson will play next season.
"I've been hearing maybe Atlanta,” the 2005 MVP said to host Kay Adams. “That's what I've been hearing. But I’m not sure.”
Russell Wilson to Atlanta?!?! ????

The Atlanta Falcons would be an intriguing fit for the 35-year-old veteran.
The Falcons’ offense features plenty of explosive weapons in running back Bijan Robinson, receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts. Atlanta just hasn’t figured out the quarterback position, as Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder took turns under center in an uninspiring 7–10 campaign in 2023.
The Broncos are expected to cut Wilson at some point this offseason. If they do, Wilson could be the answer for Atlanta with new boss Raheem Morris at the helm.
