0

Walt Disney Studios is releasing a handful of movies in theaters with plenty more heading straight to Disney+ and Hulu.

"Inside Out 2," "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," "Deadpool 3," and "Mufasa: The Lion King" are all 2024 Disney releases.

  • Walt Disney Studios will release a handful of new movies theatrically in 2024 and more on Disney+ and Hulu.
  • A new "Alien" movie, a "Lion King" prequel, and a sequel to "Inside Out" are all on the way.
  • Ryan Reynolds' anticipated "Deadpool 3" is in theaters July 26.

Disney's movie release schedule may feel a little lighter in 2024.

The studio shifted much of its theatrical calendar to 2025, including a live-action "Snow White" adaptation and two Marvel flicks. For the first time since 2014, Disney will release just one Marvel movie.

Disney is bolstering its theatrical output by taking three Pixar films that originally went straight to streaming and putting them in theaters for the first time.

The following list contains Walt Disney Studios' and Searchlight's theatrical film slates as of December 5, 2023, as well as major movies heading straight to Disney+ and Hulu. It also includes three Pixar movies Disney is releasing for the first time in theaters.
