Check out the seventh (and actually final) episode of Embedded for UFC 222.
UFC 222 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued an unprecedented seventh (and hopefully final) episode for this weekend’s big show in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
Brian Ortega gets away from the UFC hotel to cut weight with his team. Coach Rener Gracie talks about his prep, and they all get in the sauna with him. Back at the hotel, Frankie Edgar isn’t having a hard time with the cut. Cris Cyborg is shadowboxing and playing soccer, which means her weight cut is going very well according to Tito Ortiz.
Every does the morning weigh-in with no issues. The prevailing opinion is that “the hard part is done”. Tito is happy Cyborg had no problems making weight, as is Cyborg. Mackenzie Dern wasn’t sure if she’d have to take everything off, bad made it with her clothes on.
Now it’s ceremonial weigh-in time. Cat Zingano and Ashley Yoder get into it. Sean O’Malley and Andre Soukhamthath surprisingly don’t. Edgar and Ortega are intense but respectful. Cyborg, with Brazilian face paint on, respectfully stares down Kunitskaya.
And we’re all ready for tonight!
