WEST HAM co-owner David Gold has been trolled mercilessly on Twitter after falling victim to a joke Inbetweeners tweet AGAIN.
The 82-year-old was tricked into sharing a picture of the cast of the hit comedy after a user told him they were huge Irons supporters.
Hammers fan Joe wrote: “Was our prom last night and we are big West Ham fans @davidgold”.
Alongside the tweet, he posted a snap of the four actors from the Inbetweeners together at the premiere of the first feature film.
Gold appeared to be none the wiser as he replied: “Good afternoon gentlemen I hope you had a good night. dg”.
The businessman was immediately teased for his epic blunder, with one tweeting: “You’re the gift that keeps on giving…”
Another asked: “One of them had trials at West Ham dg, how come you didn’t sign him?”
While a third said: “It’s happened again.”
Some users continued the Inbetweeners references with “Prom…completed it mate”, and a few replied: “He’s made you look a right k***.”
However, others believe the tweet was intentional humour on the part of Gold, who once suffered backlash after a similar Inbetweeners gag in 2016.
The Irons co-owner wished a ‘fan’ good luck after he was sent a photo of main star Will McKenzie, played by Simon Bird, and his mum in the show.
