The weekend is approaching, and from Friday to Sunday it will be “fight-o-clock” somewhere in the world. Every Thursday, The Ring will bring you the most up-to-date information on the most relevant fights you need to see in this week-at-a-glance, one-stop enhanced fight schedule. A quick checklist for the cognoscenti, a useful nuts-and-bolts guide for the boxing neophyte is what we’re aiming at.

Here are this week’s most relevant fights:

Friday, June 23 – Double Tree Hotel, Ontario, Calif.

Jesus Saracho vs. Tarik Zaina – junior welterweight – 10 rounds

Mexico’s Saracho is 3-0 against unbeaten fighters since his lone loss, and will try to make it 4-0 against Morocco’s Zaina in an intriguing early crossroad bout.

Also on this card:

Emiliano Moreno vs. Cristian Dominguez – junior welterweight – 8 rounds

Angel Beltran vs. Abraham Afful – welterweight – 8 rounds

Nelson Oliva vs. Miguel Angel Barajas – middleweight – 6 rounds

Where to watch it: Thompson Boxing YouTube/Facebook

Saturday, June 24 – Madison Square Garden Theater, New York

Edgar Berlanga vs. Jason Quigley – super middleweight – 12 rounds

A nice little grudge match has been brewing between these two in the last few days of the buildup for this bout. It’s do-or-die battle, especially for Berlanga, who has the added pressure of making his debut with a new promotional company that has high hopes on him.

Also on this card:

Adam Kownacki vs. Joe Cusumano – heavyweight – 10 rounds

Reshat Mati vs. Dakota Linger – junior welterweight – 10 rounds

Where to watch it: DAZN

Saturday, June 2, The Armory, Minneapolis

Carlos Adames vs. Julian Williams – middleweight – 12 rounds

Making his debut as a headliner on Showtime, Adames has the obligation of leaving the great impression that will make things easier for him in his search for bigger and better paydays. Julian Williams could be the perfect foe for this task.

Also on this card:

Fernando Martinez vs. Jade Bornea – junior bantamweight -12 rounds

Erickson Lubin vs. Luis Arias – junior middleweight – 10 rounds

Where to watch it: Showtime

Saturday, Saturday, June 24 – Ota City Gymnasium, Tokyo

Joshua Franco vs. Kazuto Ioka – junior bantamweight – 12 rounds

‘El Profesor’ Franco gave a lesson of how things are not supposed to be done when he failed to make weight for this fight, thus relinquishing his WBA trinket that now will only be available for Ioka to win. Still, a high-stakes rematch that is still as compelling a matchup as it was the first time around.
