Report: Bengals Planning to Sign Former XFL Quarterback in Wake of Joe Burrow Injury
Cincinnati is getting some insurance behind center with its franchise quarterback out for the time being.
With Joe Burrow set to miss extended time with a calf injury, the Bengals reportedly are closing in on signing another quarterback to fill in as the team moves forward in training camp.
Cincinnati plans to sign free-agent QB Reid Sinnett after bringing him in for a workout earlier in the day, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Saturday. The move is expected to be made official on Sunday.
Sinnett, an undrafted prospect in 2020, will head to the Bengals after playing for the XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas in 2023. The 26-year-old has previously worked out for several NFL teams, and most recently, spent time on the Eagles and Dolphins’ practice squads during the ’22 season.
