'Hero' Officer From Maryland Shooting Previously Diffused a Potentially Lethal Situation
Before St. Mary's County Sheriff's Deputy Blaine Gaskill stopped a 17-year-old who opened-fire at Great Mills High School, he prevented another possibly lethal situation.
Deputy Gaskill was confronted by a man with a pistol in his hand while responding to a disturbance call from a neighbor.
The man placed the gun on the ground, at which point, the officer repeatedly instructs him to back away from it. Ultimately, the man was placed under arrest without a single shot being fired.
