No let-up in horrific bombardment of Eastern Ghouta by Syrian and Russian warplanes
The Syrian opposition's Civil Defence Force, also known as the White Helmets, released footage showing the damage wreaked by government airstrikes on Tuesday on Eastern Ghouta.
White Helmet paramedics, who are unarmed volunteers, removed bodies from under the rubble.
Eastern Ghouta has been under a ferocious air and ground attack by government forces backed by Russian warplanes. Hundreds of people have been killed there in recent weeks.
The UN refugee agency said 45,000 Syrians have fled their homes in the besieged region near the capital Damascus in recent days.
