State of Palestine: Seven killed, hundreds wounded in protest close to Gaza-Israel border
At least seven people were reportedly killed and many more were wounded when Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian protesters at Gaza's border with Israel on Friday. Protesters had gathered for the annual 'March of Return' to commemorate 'Land Day', when the clashes began.
'Land Day' is an annual day of commemoration for Palestinians of the events of that date in 1976. In response to the Israeli government's announcement of a plan to expropriate thousands of Palestinian farms for settlement purposes for Jews.
